Press Council meeting on Suicide Reporting in the Press

A discussion document on issues connected with the reporting of suicide in the press will be the focus of a meeting being organised by the Press Council of Ireland in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise, on Wednesday December 3rd at 8.00 pm.
The discussion document has been prepared by the Press Council on the basis of a public consultation held during September, to which a number of individuals and groups contributed.
The meeting, which will be chaired by Dr. Mary Kotsonouris, the author and former District Justice, who is also a member of the Press Council, will hear contributions from a prominent journalist, a coroner, and the Secretary of the Irish Association of Suicidology, Dr. John Connolly.
