Review of the Defamation Act 2009 – Public consultation

The Press Council of Ireland welcomes the decision of the Department of Justice and Equality to initiate a review of the 2009 Defamation Act.    Central to any proposed changes in the Defamation Act must be the protection of the right of freedom of expression.   The Press Council will be making a submission to the review body.
