A sub-committee of the Press Council of Ireland has decided that the Sunday Independent offered to take sufficient remedial action to resolve a complaint made by Mr Paul Larkin that an article published on 4 April 2021 breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment) and Principle 4 (Respect for Rights) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

On  25 February 2019 a sub-committee of the Press Council of Ireland upheld a complaint from Mr Ken O’Shea that articles published by The Sunday Business Post on 16 September 2018 breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment) and Principle 4 (Respect for Rights) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.  Other parts of the complaint were not upheld.

The Press Council of Ireland has decided to uphold a complaint by the Irish Traveller Movement that the publication of a previous decision on a complaint it made about an article in the Evening Herald on 14 September 2011 was in breach of Principle 10 of the Code of Practice for Newspapers and Magazines (Publication of the decisions of the Press Ombudsman and the Press Council) because it was not published with due prominence.This complaint was referred to the Council by the Press Ombudsman.
